How do I change the display language of DSM?
To change the display language of DSM, please follow the instructions below.
For a user belonging to the administrators group:
- Log in to DSM using an account belonging to the administrators group.
- Go to Control Panel > Regional Options > Language.
- Under Display Language, select a language from the drop-down list.
- Click Apply to save your setting.
- A confirmation prompt appears. Click Yes to continue. DSM will now be displayed in the selected language after the page refreshes.
For non-admin users:
- Log in to DSM.
- Go to the Options menu (person-shaped icon) at the top-right corner of your DSM desktop. Select Options.
- Under Account, select a language from the drop-down list.
- Click OK.
- A confirmation prompt appears. Click Yes to continue. DSM will now be displayed in the selected language after the page refreshes.
How do I log in if I forgot the admin password?
You can reset the admin password by pressing the RESET button on your Synology product for about 4 seconds until you hear a beeping sound. This will restore IP, DNS and passwords for the “admin” account to default value, and reset the “guest” account to the “disabled” status. The default password of the “admin” account is blank.
